Confirmation – The Holy Spirit

So, for the past few weeks, we have been discussing the Holy Spirit in Confirmation. If you missed our hot wheels race, I am so sorry! Maybe, we can do it again next semester as a reminder!

Some key points about the Holy Spirit are: The Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, the Spirit is a gift from God given to us that is God himself living within us. It guides and directs us through life. We see some incredible stories involving the Holy Spirit in Scripture, most notably in Acts 2! The disciples are told to wait in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit comes. The Holy Spirit comes and falls on the disciples like “tongues of fire”. They are then able to tell the story of Jesus to those around in their native tongues which was an ability they did not have before. Through the Holy Spirit, they were able to tell people from different countries the Gospel message. Does that mean that the Holy Spirit will give us the power to speak other languages? Probably not. So, you should probably study for your Spanish or French tests in school. However, what it does tell us that the Holy Spirit helps imperfect people tell others the story of Jesus!

Remember: The Holy Spirit lives within you and should remind you daily of how much God loves you his greatest creation!
